How To Buy Cigars As A Business Gift

Gregg Hall

In the corporate world there are many cigar aficionados and you may some on your gift list. If you aren't so familiar with cigars but would like to give these people some as a gift learning some simple basics like we are sharing here may help you to choose quality cigars.

Cigar smoking used to be enjoyed by a small segment of the population but now cigars are going mainstream. Although they were once only for the wealthy and powerful elite, now virtually anyone can find and buy quality cigars even if they aren't the rare and beloved Cubans. We will help you to find fine high quality cigars that are sure to make anyone happy.

Check out you local tobacco shop or if you are lucky to have one, a specialty cigar shop to see the largest selection and best quality. Steer clear of the so-called "drugstore cigars" that while being inexpensive are also full of preservatives and other ingredients that you do not want. These low quality stogies can include substances such as glycerin, saltpeter, and other irritants. For the best quality possible you should seek cigars that are 100% tobacco only. If the ingredients are not plainly stated be sure to ask the clerk what they are. Anyone who works at one of these establishments should be very knowledgeable and experienced about all aspects of these tobacco products and able to answer all your questions.

While you can find some good deals at the online stores you should probably visit your local tobacco shop first so that you can touch and smell different cigars and get an idea of what you want first. Just a hint here, a good quality cigar will have a little give in it as it is squeezed and should be firm and smooth with no noticeable lumps. The wrapper should not be dried out or discolored and should be smooth and tight. Look at the end of the product and check the color, it should be even throughout and with no major changes which can result in uneven burning and an unpleasant smell.

It may be a little difficult to but the perfect cigar for someone else if you aren't totally familiar with how much they smoke choose a longer cigar. This is really a good thing because longer ones usually have a cooler taste. If you know the person you are gifting is a regular and experienced smoker, pick one that is a big diameter. These types have a flavor that is richer for an enjoyable smoking experience.
